hey, its Jon. back in 2013 i joined up with a old friend of mine Dave to jam on some songs he had written. we had a bass player and drummer, and we jammed early versions of these songs for months, slowly molding these songs, rearranging parts here and there and at the same time looking for a singer. well, that singer never showed up and eventually we all got distracted with other things so we went our separate ways.

Dave joined other bands (mostly drumming , not guitar) and i started working on my solo songs which were all instrumental.

years later, around 2019, i was thinking about these songs Dave had written and i knew that they deserved to finally see the light of day. so i asked Dave if he wanted to get together and work on these songs again and maybe come out with an instrumental release like i had been doing with my own songs for a few years now. he was up for it so we got together and slowly started plugging away at the tracks.

we recorded scratch rhythm guitars, and then Dave started working on some drum beats. About halfway through the project, the pandemic hit and really slowed our progress down. we slowly kept going when we had time. then i (Jon) had a baby and things got really challenging.

Over 2022/2023 I slowly worked at writing all the lead guitars for the project. most of these parts were brand new and not part of our original sessions. since we had originally planned to have a singer, most of these songs had minimal sections with leads up until that point but we really wanted to make the most of this instrumental release, so i treated the lead guitar parts like i do my other albums, almost acting like a singer at times with melody.

and after 10 or so years, the album finally wrapped up and we're both very happy to finally have these killer songs to share with you guys. and who knows, maybe we'll do more 10 years from now...

So in the end, to sum things up, Dave wrote all the drum parts and played rhythm guitars and is the main songwriter. I played all the lead guitars, bass guitars and the occasional rhythm part here and there. a pretty even blend of both of us across the board i'd say.
