about

i wrote this track originally as a simple acoustic piece. i intended to keep it very simple. when i asked erik peabody (viking guitar) if he'd be interested in throwing a solo onto this song, he seemed up for the challenge. the original idea that he sent me (which is very much like the end result) inspired me to create a lot more melodic sections for the other parts of the song. grants bass playing on this song always for some reason reminded me of the movie The Labyrinth. not sure why. regardless, i love the bass he wrote for this track and i made sure that it stood out! i wrote this song for my lovely counterpart and although she was my main inspiration, i have been told by multiple sources that the overall structure and sound of the track (acoustic guitar mostly) has a very "final fantasy vibe" which i can't argue with. i recorded the acoustic sections with my thomas bazollo custom acoustic guitar into a shure sm57 and the rest of my guitar was with my es335 into the axefx. eriks guitar solo can be found at the end of the song.
